About Nathan Ward

Sharing photos with monks in Paro, Bhutan

I was born on the tumbleweed plains of southeast Colorado, a land of rough stock, farmers and ranchers working thin land. My ancestors homesteaded here, before the dust bowl buried it all and sent them to town. One of my favorite things about growing up here was the town library where I found an unending stream of books to transport me out of the flatlands and into the world of adventure and exploration.

Since 1994, I’ve worked as a professional writer, photographer, filmmaker and sustainable tourism consultant in nearly 40 countries.  After spending five years working in the Himalayas and East Africa, I am once again based in Salida, Colorado USA at the base of the Sawatch Mountain Range.

MY SERVICES INCLUDE:

  • Writing, Photography and Film Packages – Exciting and professional stories and photographs for humanitarian organizations, adventure companies, magazines, websites, books and films.

  • Sustainable Tourism Consulting– envisioning, designing and implementing sustainable tourism and adventure programs. I can help you make a project a reality – from an idea to an operating successful program on the ground, including marketing and media plans.
